A Big Boat to Norway
This is the story of a journey that starts in the docks of Dover on a ship that makes its way via Holland and Germany to the beautiful fjords of the Norwegian coastline.
We settle with the author into life aboard ship and meet some of the people on the journey with him who inevitably add spice and humour to the seafaring menu. We are introduced to Norway in the old and graceful port of Bergen, just the beginning of a journey that also takes in the cities of Trondheim and Stavanger.
Between the cities are the fjords themselves and the countryside that surrounds them where the author encounters a glacier that is rapidly retreating up a mountainside, an Amazonian guide called Gunn, and a rather too verbose German lady.
